A few months ago our son Joe had a really good week. His photo was featured on the front page of the school newspaper and he graduated with top honors from the law enforcement cadet program. He won Top Academic and Best All Around. Since then he has been on ride-alongs with deputies and still does training on different weekends. It's a little unnerving when I see my sixteen year old son putting on a bullet proof vest, but being the mom of seven boys I know they grow to be men, some sooner than others.
